This session will provide an overview of the LA County Department of Mental Health’s GENESIS program. The program provides field-based outpatient mental health and specialized services tailored to meet the unique needs of older adults, aged 60 and above, who are living with severe mental illness and are unable to access services due to impaired mobility, frailty, or other limitations.

Coming Together: Integrating Services for Older Adults Experiencing Homelessness*

United Way of Greater Los Angeles commissioned a report with Carmona Insights LLC that aims to unpack how CalAIM has changed the service landscape for the older adult population and identify how to integrate these changes into existing housing support infrastructure. The speakers will discuss the report and the complexities of older adult health challenges, how effective strategies can be developed to build on existing programs and initiatives, improve health outcomes and enhance the quality of life for homeless older adults.
